"Seto City" is home of Seto-yaki, one of Japan's leading pottery types located in the middle of "Ginza shopping street". There is an old private house named "Cafe & Guesthouse Moyaiya", which was renovated with the theme of its three main functions "food, accommodation, experience". As a traditional cafe & guesthouse featuring "monodzukuri" pottery it hearkens back to old town settlements of Yakimono. It hopes to be a local exchange spot connecting agricultural and livestock products, technology, culture, and people. Café & Guesthouse Moyaiya is aiming to become such an exchange.
On the first floor of guest house, we provide meals which are totally made from local agricultural and livestock products. You get not only a great sense of taste but tourists who come here can also enjoy the historical ancient atmosphere of the Seito period. Our café shop is open to guests, whether you stay with us or not.
Our guest house is happy to give you our best service in a warm and comfortable atmosphere. In the common space of the guest house, we offer sofas and tables, with the comfort of your home's living room. We also offer sightseeing information and handmade products. We hope that our guest house will be a place for tourists to relax, enjoy Japanese tradition and add a meaningful and memorable time to your trip.
Accomodation fee - Reservation
In our experiential workshop, you can enjoy the experience of operating a lathe or painting ceramics. Anyone can join the workshops whether you are an amateur or a professional. We regularly hold a variety of workshops for tourists and locals alike with an instructor to guide you. Ceramics painting classes and lathe operating are open to all to promote and satisfy your interest in the skill and tradition of making handmade products. Please feel free to join us.
We are exhibiting as well as selling handmade products at Seto City. Feel free to "see, touch and try” them. At Moyaiya, from the creative ideas of the lathe operators we can always offer you the latest in handmade products.
